Saturday 10/5
Today was busy, but it was a good day. Paige and Marcus’s FaceTimed with the kids this morning which was good for Vail and Rahm, but Leo was so sad, he shut down and cried. He’s such a sensitive boy.
Darlene left with Vail and Rahm for Vail’s soccer game (her team won!), and I brought Leo to hockey practice. We left much earlier than we needed to because we were picking up his new jersey - #43 for the Warriors, and it was ‘placement’ day where they determine what team the kids will be on. I wasn’t sure how long it would take to get the jersey and didn’t want Leo to be late. Since we were early, we took our time in the locker room getting him dressed and had a lot of fun! I took pictures every step of the process and he loved it! We also watched some big kids play a couple periods of their game before he took the ice with 100 other kids. It’s very well organized and Leo did fantastic! He’s a very fast skater and seems to have good puck control. He listens to the coaches very well and responds to their advice. I was so proud of him! We got home and ate some lunch with Jim, Darlene and Rahm. Vail went to a birthday party and then a birthday party at Skate City with another mom.
We then left for Leo’s baseball game (his team killed the other team). Leo got a double and made it home on two singles. He also had a great defensive play on second base. What an athlete! Jim (Papa) and Darlene were kept busy with Rahm playing with a bat and ball, trucks, and a nerf football.
We came back to the house and I fixed dinner while Darlene went to pick up Vail at the party and Jim played with the boys outside on the playset. We all actually sat down at the table and ate taco bowls and burritos! That was nice. Darlene put Rahm and Leo to bed and I had the pleasure again of tucking Vail in for her slumber.
It’s nice to have Jim here because these kids love him! He’s very good with them! I enjoy Jim’s company so much! Darlene’s lucky to have him as much as he’s lucky to have her!
Busy day, but a good day!
